Calling All Up-And-Coming Fashion Designers!!!

As I have written here before, one of my main aims is to give new, talented designers a place to show off and publicise their work in the best possible way – by selling it to the general public.

The fashion industry is ever more dominated by multinational corporations that decide what we should wear before then producing it, packaging it up and spending billions on convincing us to buy it which is not really necessary as often there doesn’t seem to be an alternative.

This is where the internet can be an amazing tool. If you’re reading this, you are probably a modern, internet using, informed consumer that understands the web’s potential for finding just what you’re looking for as well as new things you didn’t even know existed.

This is why, here at Naïa do Mare, we’re bringing our search for new talent into the open and we would like to ask you for your suggestions for talented new designers that could benefit from having somewhere to exhibit and sell their designs.

We are already having a great response to the Greek designer Dimitris Camarinopulos’s collection which we have to offer on our website and we are already speaking to various other designers hoping to include their creations in the near future but we want to do more.

If you are a designer, get in touch! If you know of any good designers, get in touch! This goes for footwear designers and accessories designers too.

Obviously, we’re actively searching too so, whatever happens, there’s going to be some new and exciting things happening at www.naiadomare.com

Hi, how are all you fashion addicts?!

We have fresh news from Naïa do Mare that I want to share with you! At the moment we are talking to various new designers from all areas of fashion, clothing, jewellery, footwear… and we are working very hard to introduce you to the best from these great artists that we believe in for their outstanding work.

We hope to be able to offer some new collections very soon.

At the moment, we are principally concentrating our efforts on a couple of designers from London, an excellent Portuguese silversmith and a fantastic designer from Barcelona. Out interest is centred on being able to bring you the exclusive originality of new international talents and, at the same time, promote creativity, something which is never bad in the world of fashion as limitation is never good in art. We want to let the imagination run wild and free so that we can have more styles available to us!

From what we are seeing, the exclusive Atenas collection, from the excellent Greek designer Dimitris Camarinopulos, is being a great hit and according to the comments we have received, people would like to see different trends from artists from different countries. Well, I assure you that we are working on it and we firmly believe that we are selecting the best from each place.

At the same time, I want to make an appeal to all those designers from any aspect of the fashion world that would like to make a proposal to Naïa do Mare that they get in touch with us, we are always open to new proposals.

FASHION AND STYLE ONLINE – NAÏA DO MARE

Getting to Know Naïa do Mare’s OnLine Store

Hello again,

I thought I’d explain a bit about how the site works ( www.naiadomare.com )

The font page looks like this:

It’s very simple really.

Below the title you can choose your language (Spanish or English).

“My Account” is to register or to access your account (personal information, addresses, order history, etc…).

“My Wishlist” is for your list wishlist! It’s a list that you can send to your friends, family, etc. so that they know what you want for your birthday, christmas…

“My Basket” is your shopping basket.

“Checkout” is to make your purchase.

After that there are three buttons (for now) to: listen to music, invite your contacts (with the possibility to get a gift!!) or to choose your currency.

The most important aspect oof the page is the “lift”/”elevator”. It has arrows to go up or down in the page (if you put the mouse on top of them, the page goes up or down gradually or, if you click on them, it goes to the top or the bottom). If you roll over the floor numbers, a list comes out with links to the different departments of that floor.

PRESENTING NAÏA DO MARE – FASHION AND STYLING ONLINE

Hello everyone,

I would like to present “Naïa do Mare“, our new way of shopping. The alternative from the same old thing!!!

I am Ana Martínez, director of this fashion and styling initiative.

Personally, I am passionate about fashion. As a great consumer and after years working in various of its fields and analysing the subject… I’ve got tired of almost always seeing the same , (something which bores me terribly), that friends with less common sizes can’t dress the same as the rest of us and that when we want something more, let’s say, exclusive, different, the prices ruin the month’s economy (in the best case scenario)! Moreover, I wanted us to have something more, a whole world of femininity made for and by us in which we can feel cared for and have direct contact with the whole team responsible for the project.

For all this, I decided to create, along with a small team of good professionals, a site that would be accessible to everyone (hence its being online), with fashion for all tastes and sizes and prices that have been heavily negotiated for with the suppliers and designers. These designers, by the way, are selected from a wide variety of places; London, Paris, Athens, Ibiza… and that’s just for now!!! The idea is to bring people with interesting ideas and good prices together from all over.
